To all members, parents & friends.
At the inaugural committee meeting for your new committee last Wednesday, it was decided to go out to all Eagles members seeking expressions of interest for coaching (or being an Assistant Coach) - seniors and juniors, as well as people interested in undertaking a scorer's course. Eagles needs good people to step forward into these roles to assist the Club; or to be prepared to try, with someone else perhaps taking the lead.
To this end, Eagles are asking you to consider your ability and availability to undertake either a coaching role for the club or to register your interest in scoring, if this is what you may wish to consider.
If you would like to coach, please just send an email and include a preference for juniors or seniors and any experience you may have with coaching sport of any kind.
Send you email EOI to to firstname.lastname@example.org
Or for those interested in coaching Eagles Juniors; Andrew Tharle, email@example.com
Or coaching Eagles Seniors; Rod MacDonald, firstname.lastname@example.org
Our coaching director Col Barnes will view all coaching applications.
Let us assure you, you don't need to be an expert; just someone with the players and club at the forefront!
Why not be an Eagles Junior Baseball coach?
The 2014-15 season was a great year for Eagles Junior baseball. Out of 4 possible junior premierships we won 2. Under 14’s and under 12’s div 1. Add to that the Ambassadors Cup for the largest increase in junior numbers.
Over a number of years many of Eagles junior stars have gone over to play baseball in the College and professional system in America. As a club, we realise with the growing numbers of juniors it is more important than ever to provide quality coaches for all our players.
For the 2015-16 season we are calling for expressions of interest in early, so that we can ensure that all coaches have the best quality of training we can provide before the season begins. Baseball Canberra, through the manager of player pathway Jeremy Barnes, over the winter months have been developing coaching programs for all levels of junior baseball in Canberra. Eagles realise the importance of aligning ourselves with the Baseball Canberra principles and will be working closely with them to achieve a better outcome.
We will be arranging coach the coach sessions within the club and with the assistance of Baseball Canberra. The current Eagles coaches, will endeavour to give you all the support you need so our juniors & seniors get the most out of their baseball experience. We want our players to be successful, develop their skills and have fun.
Please include, you name, contact information and experience in coaching (baseball or not)
